Hi, I’m Greg Peddle
and this is Continuous Disruption
This site explores ideas related to the problems modern humans face in a world where disruptive changes are occurring faster than they can be absorbed.
These disruptions can come from any direction; your personal life, the job you work at, economic development, the effects of climate change, new advances in science or technology, political events.
Understanding and responding to disruptive change
My inspiration is the book Future Shock, as well as my lifelong journey of to understand the future as it happens to me.
I want to explore the ways that we encounter these changes, how they affect us, and strategies for staying healthy in a world that moves too fast.
The name Continuous Disruption is a riff on the software development practice of CI/CD, where changes to code are built and deployed in an automated fashion. This engineering approach improves quality overall, but also can make the process feel like it is moving on without you.
In this blog, I’m pursuing a mirage, trying to understand the future as it happens to us.
Our best explanations are merely good enough, barely acceptable for today, and will be replaced almost immediately as we travel into the future, day by day.
Please join me in my journey. The future is an exciting place, but it’s hard work to keep up and understand it. I’m looking forward to finding the people who will join me in that task.
